December 2014 Recap (Friday)

I need to update our adventures. Was offline for almost a week and when I got back on, I forgot. LOL Oops. Even packed my laptop and brought it with  me but never used it.

12/20 - Sharky & Petunia went sailing with Mr. DW. They had a really good time and were pretty much exhausted by the time they got home.

12/21 -Sharky ran to Home Depot and got some Draino for the tub. It smelled like hell, but worked thankfully. He and Petunia ran over to Goodwill and dropped off two full bags (one of clothing, the other of shoes). They than ran over to Mr. DW's house and picked up the set of 11 mixing bowls he had for Bug & TBoo. Ended the day with Petunia and I eating dinner alone - Sharky met up with his boss and a co-worker. The boss treated them to dinner at Ted's Montana Grill. Of course he had a bison burger and he loved it. Totally jealous. LOL

12/22 -Spent the day going through all the Yule holiday boxes and sorted out ornaments, etc., for Bug. Packed them all up and ended up with a total of 4 small boxes - quite a lot. There are still plenty more for Bear, when he gets married, and eventually Petunia.

12/23 -Sharky got off of work early. I spent most of the day getting stuff together and suffering from major nerves. Set out 3 different eating stations and litter boxes, so there was a total of 4 in 4 different rooms for the cats. Finally got to the airport and we were able to rent a car (Dodge Avenger), thank Goddess. What a relief. As the evening went on, the weather got progressively worse and from the news reports, the rain was just going to get worse. So...

12/24 -...A few minutes after midnight on Xmas eve morning, we packed up the car and left. Sharky drove the entire way, with plenty of bathroom breaks and leg stretching. Some of the storm cells were pretty bad. Luckily, we drove through the beginning of it. If we had left any later, we would have experienced a lot worse. We arrived in MCAS New River about 8 am. Called Bug and he met us at the Visitor Center and signed us in. We got to the house by 9 and he went back to work. Within an hour, he was home. LOL Their little house was adorable - 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, good sized kitchen and a screened in porch. Daisy dog was so happy to see us. And BabyBug? OMGs, what a perfect, precious little guy he is. Yes, we snuggled him as much as we could. Sharky took a nap and I took one to try and catch up after that all night drive. TBoo took Petunia to the store later that day to get the rest of the stuff for that evening. She did an awesome job, with a little help from Bug, and made a great feast for our Xmas Eve tradition. We watched Guardians of the Galaxy for the movie.

12/25 - Had a lovely Xmas day with everyone. Petunia loved her plush leopard print bathrobe and rainbow scarf. She and Sharky got me my Llewellyn calendar and the Olay face cleaner thing that I wanted. Later that day, Bug took Sharky & Petunia out skeet shooting and I stayed back to play with BabyBug. He is such a good baby. Just loves snuggling and hardly fusses at all. While they were gone, friends of theirs stopped by with a present for BabyBug. Nice to meet them, they were a big help watching TBoo's baby brother when her mom was at the hospital with her during the birth.

12/26 - Spent most of this day just hanging around. Couldn't get enough of baby love.

12/27 - Left about 8 am. Sharky wanted to leave earlier, but that was pretty hard to do. It was difficult to say goodbye to everyone. Not a very good drive home. Stuck in SC for 3 times longer than necessary due to super slow, congested traffic. We had breakfast in the car, but by lunch, we stopped at a truck stop to eat and stretch our legs. Finally got home around 7 pm. The cats were pissed off, but you could tell they were happy to see us. They had eaten everything except for a little bit in one bowl and had finished their water as well (but recently, the bowls were still damp, not dry).

12/28 - Dropped off the car around noon and then Sharky dropped Petunia and I off at Sun-Ray Cinema to meet up with BB and her mom (MB). They treated us to a double feature of Into The Woods and Big Eyes. Petunia and I split a Black Lagoon pizza (omgs to die for) and a large popcorn (free, courtesy of checking in with Yelp). MB treated both of us to a chocolate malt milkshake during the second movie. It was great, hadn't had one of those in a very long time. I got dropped off at home but Petunia came home about 10:30 after helping BB with dying her hair.

12/29 - Sharky went back to work today. After, had a brief shopping run to pick up food and my Rx.

12/30 - MB had a party planned, but they all got sick so it was cancelled. (Thank goodness we didn't pick anything up after spending the day with them. LOL) Sharky got home early because of the holiday; he has the next 2 days off.

12/31 - MB is still sick, but we went ahead and let Petunia go over anyway. We dropped her off at noon and she spent the night. Sharky and I just had frozen Chinese food at home. He slept pretty well, but I stayed up for hours listening to the urchins scream right outside my bedroom window and fireworks and guns going off everywhere.

01/01 - Picked up Petunia around 3 pm and went to the store and picked up groceries for the next couple of days. Had frozen Chinese food again.

01/02 -Today. Sharky's back at work, although just for the day. Next week, everything will be back to normal with school and work all 5 days.
