Saturday

Sometime between 12:00 and 12:01 am this morning, my husband and I had our 22nd (or 5 1/2) anniversary. We've really put the whole "for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse" to the test and have come out pretty well so far. I love you my dear and am looking forward to seeing what comes next for us.

Bug and TBoo came over at about 6:45 last night and drove us to European Street. (He told me he wanted us to go out and I told him to choose a restaurant that TBoo liked. She's not a big fan of Asian food, so Hawker's was out. E Street is one of her absolute faves, so that is where we went.) Luckily, we not only got a space out front, we also found two tables we could push together inside for the 5 of us. For a Friday night, it was strangely not packed at all. Thank goodness! It would have been fun to sit outside, but it was just too cold for 4/5 of our group. LOL

We skipped appetizers and all had sandwiches (TBoo had the turkey bacon wrap, Bug had the Blue Max, Sharky had something like a Reuben, and I had my ham & brie French Connection), except for Petunia who had the beer cheese soup in the edible bread bowl! Sharky and I had just squeezed in under Happy Hour(!) so we both had two tall Blacktoberfests (Guiness and Hacker Schorr Octoberfest beers, served like a black & tan). Mmm, I had wanted one of those for a long time. We also had a coupon for a free entree, which price-wise equaled two desserts. TBoo & Bug had the Oreo cheesecake (pretty good) but the three of us had the Italian Lemon Cream Cake which was unbelievably divine. Definitely want to have that one again. Since it was our anniversary and their "wedding dinner", we paid for it even though Bug offered to halve the bill.

Woke up this morning to coffee and Sharky made breakfast - eggs, grits and bacon! It was delicious and so nice to have a big breakfast like that.

Got a library run today and then Sharky has to spend a few hours at the boat with Mr. DW. Not sure if Petunia is going with him or not. It's her choice.
