Monday

Sending a postcard to Germany today.

I am running out of postcards, need to purchase some more. I need to remember, next time I'm at the zoo, too see if they have any postcards for sale. I hadn't thought of that until today, when I read the request of the family I was assigned via PCX. I also need to find another source for posties. Walgreens has had the same selection for years and I would like to be able to send something different.

I played with Sharky's laptop on Saturday, he wanted me to use the log-on he created for me and I installed Google Chrome. Big mistake, because when I viewed this blog, it went straight to the new interface which is difficult to use on IceWeasel (and I cannot turn it off). Had to find the Debian Synaptic disk for my computer and so I installed Chrome on my desktop. Of course, its ugly and very different from IceWeasel and I cannot figure out how to open multiple tabs at once (yes, I'm spoiled with my set up now). I'm writing this blog in the new interface on IceWeasel, hope it works. *sigh* (It didn't, not really. Kept freezing up over and over and I finally had to open up Chrome to finish it off. Thank goodness that Blogger has good auto-draft saving.)

Saturday was a lot of fun. Sharky took Petunia to school - no school was scheduled. *head bang on desk* I took her back to school for her teacher-parent conference. Same stuff, just needs to be better on her homework and organization skills. Then we picked up JL and went to Publix. Got home, and had some lunch. JL made us a beautiful anniversary present - a large poster frame of family photos. It was so sweet of her to do that. She and Petunia then watched a movie and I took a nap. Bug came home, then TB arrived and we all went to Beach Road Chicken (our treat) for our family "anniversary" dinner. It was a lot of fun and we were all very silly. Afterwards, Bug and TB went out over her house, we drove JL home, and then the 3 of us swung by DQ for small Blizzards. Sharky soon went to bed, very tired, and Bug got home on time.

Bug went to work the next morning and we spent most of the day just lazing around and getting Sharky ready for work. Had to take Sharky to his boss's house last night at 11:00 PM. Yes, that is right. So not fun. We had Chinese from China Joy last night and it might have upset our stomachs. Bug says he's fine, so maybe it was something just the 3 of us ate? Not sure. Kept me up all night in pain and Petunia woke up nauseated this morning, so I'm keeping her home from school.

This should be a short week for him, they are finishing up the Gainesville job and have a meeting back here in town on Thursday for the Alabama job. Ugh. I have my fingers crossed that he gets 3 nights at home before leaving, instead of the usual 2.

Sharky really seems to love his ukulele. He had a lot of fun playing with it this weekend. He tightened up the tuning knobs and got it tuned properly. He really is so musical, I'm rather jealous. LOL

Felinertia: Rupert and Rosie are starting to really fit in. Rosie is a super snuggle bug and spends most of the day going from the bathroom to the bedroom and sleeping in bed with us, against our legs or back. Rupert climbed on Petunia's lap yesterday evening, wanting to be held and petted! They both were super spunky kitties this morning, tearing around the house 90 mph. LOL  Gabby & Rupert actually bumped noses Saturday night. I was so happy! It might take Rosie a while longer, since she is smaller and more nervous. Petunia played with Rosie with Malcolm's old shoelace and Rosie ran around the house yesterday, dragging it behind her like her kill. So cute. Rupert is enjoying the dining room chair that faces our desks - same chair Malcolm and Cosmo liked to perch in.
