Saturday

It's so quiet without my Petunia around. She called last night around 9:30 p.m. to check in and said she was having a great time. We will pick her up most likely sometime this afternoon.

Sharky is working on a friend's car, hopefully will make a couple of bucks from it. He's gone to the store to pick up parts. Bear is at work. Fridays and Saturdays are supposedly the busiest. Has tomorrow and Monday off. Bug is headed outside to mow the lawn in a few minutes. OMGs, I think I'll be alone in the house for the first time in a long time. Wowza.

Have I mentioned that I hate JEA lately? LOL They've had huge "mega trucks" racing up and down our streets every day and yesterday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., they parked a bunch in front of our house (1 van, 2 cable, 2 bucket, and a small truck). I made a joke to Sharky that our power might be cut off any moment - five minutes later, some dude banged on the door and said we'd have an hour power outage in a few minutes so they could replace a power pole. Yeah, power went out alright at 2:30 p.m., didn't come back on until 5:00 p.m. (that's 2 1/2 hours, not the 1 promised) and they didn't replace OUR pole (which is rotting and falling over) but another one a couple of houses away. *sigh* The house didn't feel cool again until almost midnight.

During the outage, Petunia played in the tub and Sharky took the boys to the library. I just laid on the couch, read and fanned myself with a large African fan my mom gave me and tried real hard not to think about the stifling heat.

Started re-reading the Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon on Thursday. Finished the first book yesterday and am now on #2, Dragonfly in Amber. I own the first 5, am missing the 6, but picked up the 7th when I was at Chamblin's a while back. I need to return and see if they have #6 in hardback since I refuse to skip over it. LOL These books are pretty thick, but I read fast, so I should go either today so soon. I debated at first whether I should re-read the whole series or not, but I am glad I decided to. My cousin, Iain, told me on FB "ew, ack! Her books are HORRIBLY inaccurate." and I responded that I knew that, but I wasn't reading her books for the history. ROFLOL
