Petunia was very quiet today and slept a lot. Once Bear and Bug got home (it's early release today) we ran up to Sharky's job and dropped Bear off so he can work on a class project there (life skills).
I took 10E/95N and cut through downtown and Arlington to get to the Regency area. The whole way on the expressway, I stayed at my usual speed (55, the limit is 50) with most people passing me. I noticed a small dark car shadowing me the entire length. When I got to the mall area, a blue/red light strip started flashing in windshield and then a cop jumped out and ran towards me. I shifted into park and rolled the window down. He was in full cop regalia and was in his mid 50s - I've never seen him before in my life. When he got to me, he skidded to a stop and did a double take with a very shocked look on his face. Then he yelled at me, asking why I didn't pull over to the side of the road. I tried to explain calmly that I did not know that was an unmarked car - I had never seen one before and he had just flipped his lights on - but he kept yelling "Blue lights mean pull over". I apologized and then he started yelling that I was driving 10-15 miles over the speed limit and was changing lanes without signaling. (I wasn't and didn't.) He stopped to take a breath and I quickly said "Do you want me to pull over?" and he ran back to his car yelling, "No, it's just a warning since I had to get out of my car anyway." The traffic light had already turned green so I pulled away and he quickly left, speeding off into another direction. I never got his name or badge number and I am left with a creepy feeling that he obviously thought I was someone else. I definitely thank Epona for her assistance on this one...
