My dad called yesterday. Our family holiday present this year is a renewal of our zoo membership. Yippee! That is one present we love more than anything. He said he wanted to send the kids presents and we talked about it and then he decided that gift cards (most likely to WM) would be the best thing to send. (Goodness knows, he doesn't approve of any toys my sons like and it's too hard to shop for clothing...) Bear will be getting an extra gift card because Dad forgot his birthday.
Had a lovely lunch yesterday with C. Met her and Lily at European Street here in Riverside and the food was perfect. Bear had a Muffeletta (at my recomendation and he was very happy withit) with the King of Beasts cake for dessert (like a "death by chocolate" cake). Bug had the Fiery Turkey Hero (hot sauce, hot salsa, hot mustard, jalapeno jack cheese, etc. LOL and it set his mouth on fire) and the Oreo Cheesecake for dessert. Petunia had the BLT wrap (the wrap was sooo soft and easy on her braces) with the Caramel Apple Granny Pie for dessert (I think that was the best dessert of all). What did I have? LOL My usual, the French Connection Pita (ham and brie - and man oh man was there a lot of brie *drool*) and I had the Peanut Butter Pie for dessert (it was good, but not as good as the apple one Petunia had). Oh just realized, should have taken pictures of it all. LOL
Of course, C pulled her usual and instead of a couple of gifts, handed over two large bags of gifts for the kids. I keep telling her NOT to do that, but it makes her happy and she loves me and the kids, so... *sigh* I just wish I could pay her back for all the wonderful things she does for us.
Not much planned for today. Trying to finish the Holiday Posties so I can mail them tomorrow. (EEEK, SO LATE!) Bear will be baking brownies for Sharky and we will drive them over in a bit.
