Happy Birthday Sharky! My beloved turns 42 today. Don't have much planned, need to conserve gas this week. Going to have a nice breakfast this morning and maybe take a little excursion down the street. LOL Dinner will be porkchops, squash, potatoes and homemade cheesecake for a birthday cake!
We all watched Blade Runner (1982) last night. (OK, not Petunia, she passed out almost as soon as it started, just like I planned. LOL). Of course, this wasn't the same movie I saw in the theaters 25 years ago (was it really that long?), this is the "Director's Cut" so it's a bit different. *shrugs* Not that it really matters, I'm no purist. The movie still holds all the magic and creepy realism that it held for me the first time I watched it. All of the special effects held up wonderfully (except for one shot, near the end, of a car passing over head that looked like it was just tacked on) and the creepy, dismal LA of the future still looks plausible (although I think NY would turn out like that before LA would LOL). I still want to mention, if you haven't read the book this is loosely (?) based on (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick), you need to do so to fully understand.
