Forgot to mention, while we were at the Waldo Flea Market last weekend, we visited a little music shop while there and I found a great beginner mandolin book for $3! It's a simple book, just showing chords, but it was all I need. I've been practicing since I got it and my first two fingers on my left hand are super sore, but I'm getting good at playing G, C, and D and strumming. Had to sacrifice my nails on that hand, but that's no big deal. I really like a pick Sharky gave me, but it's too thin and the metal strings chewed it up (too thin). I'm going to have to get another one. We've got a lot of picks, but I liked this particular one because it was larger than the others. Sharky says he's very proud of me, but I don't think I'm doing anything special. LOL
