Last night, I was woken up by the sound of garbage being ripped into. At night, I don't let the kids go to the garbage can outside, they just tie up the garbage bag and place it on the porch. Something got into it and had a field day with it. Gabby started barking, but didn't scare it away. We've rarely had problems with that, but I guess either Sharky or I will take the garbage out at night from now on. I definitely do not want critters hanging around looking for a handout, you know?
Yesterday, the boys cleaned up their room. They really did. I guess the idea of not having any fun privileges until 11/12 was horrifying enough for them to tackle the monstrous job of actually cleaning the pigsty. They did a very good job too. Of course, Sharky and I are now very concerned about where all the stuff actually went to, since we didn't see them taking any garbage out of their room. So, it's either in the closet or under their bed - both of which is a major no-no. I just asked them and they swear they took a giant bag of garbage out. I told them that our guest cot will be stored in their room so they have to find a place for it. I'm thinking the area they call "the dark hole" next to their bunkbed by the outside wall is a perfect place for it. They can cover it with a blanket or sheet and put stuffed animals on it as camoflauge.
Next room to tackle? Petunia's. EEEK! Yes, since the boys made so much of the mess in there, I will make them help her clean it up and they will be rewarded with another privilege.
Watched The Flight of the Phoenix last night, great movie! The boys really enjoyed it. I know the critics panned it, but we aren't too picky. LOL
I bought the soundtrack to O Brother Where Art Thou and we listened to it last night. I cannot remember wanting a soundtrack as bad as I wanted this one. The boys had already gone to bed, but as soon as they heard it, they came flying out. They were so excited to know I had it! LOL I made them go to bed with the promise that I would let them listen to it today.
