From the news today: Study Ties Kids' Weight Gain, Produce Cost
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A new study suggests the price of fresh fruits and vegetables has a stronger connection to weight gain among children than whether they live near fast-food outlets.
My thoughts? DUH! They keep coming up with these "studies" that prove this fact and it still isn't helping us any. It's not just kids, it's adults too. Produce is extremely expensive and the affordable stuff (canned goods) is no where near as healthy as fresh stuff. IMO, this country need to stop blaming fast food restaurants and start figuring out how to lower the prices on produce. More family gardens perhaps? (I've got a brown thumb though...)
