Diabetes class #3 went well. Lost 8 1/2 pounds since last month. (Yeah!) Got lots of sample goodies & coupons for products to try, dealing with snacks and skin care. (Yes, I'm noticing dry skin more and more.) Next appointment will be in January.
Had an unsettling experience as I was leaving class. Because the hospital was busy, I had to park on the roof of the parking garage, and since class let out at lunch, the elevator was packed. I would normally not get in a packed elevator, but people kept piling in and there wasn't time for me to get out. I looked over at the lady on my right and gave her a little smile. She smiled back and then looked down and saw my cat pentacle on my necklace. A look of terror crossed her face and she backed away from me, as far as she could, and grabbed her husband's (or companion?) arm and dug her nails in. When the elevator arrived at the rooftop, she pushed everyone out of the way, dragging the man after her, and walked as fast as one could without running.
I am NOT a scary looking person. I am short, overweight, long reddish-brown hair, and wear glasses. I am clean and am wearing clean clothes (polo and jeans). I look like the stereotypical stay-at-home mom. First glance, she even returned my smile - didn't freak out until she saw my pentacle. It's a freaking star with a cat sitting on top of it for Gds sake!!! I hope that perhaps she was there for mental problems and that is why she acted the way she did...
Mailed a package for Sharky, swung by Earth Gifts and hung up the flyer for the Witches Ball and bought some incense. Also found a lovely little carved gemstone fetish of a rhino - I had enough change on me, so I bought it and will save it for Bear's birthday. I think I might make something with it before I give it to him. A beaded bookmark, perhaps? Hmm... I might wait and save it for a Yule present - that way, I can go back when I have some more money and pick up a critter fetish for Bug and Petunia as well.
