Oops, forgot yesterday...

I thought I posted something yesterday, guess I didn't. Bear and I went to Publix and finished grocery shopping. Filled up two carts with stuff that we actually needed. I cannot recall actually using two carts before the checkout line but have after since bagged items take up more room.

Bear made the greasiest chili ever for dinner last night in the crock pot, but wow was it good. LOL He needs to learn how to drain the meat better after cooking it, but still. He stupidly put his fingers on the burner after frying up the ground beef and now has blisters on the tips. We asked him why he did it and he said he didn't know. Obviously, he wasn't paying attention. *sigh* He'll be fine, thank goodness, and hopefully he'll learn a lesson from it.

Saturday, we ran some errands. Had to get a school book for Bug so we went to Chamblin's Book Mine. I scored big time - found the first four of Steve Berry's Cotton Malone series in hardcover, in excellent shape. I've been wanting to own these since I read them at the library a few years ago. Definitely re-readable books. Then we all had lunch at Tom & Betty's, a little diner place we've been wanting to go to for years. Very delish. Just sandwiches and burgers but good quality.

Oh, in the middle of lunch, Bug complained about his arm and I made him roll up his sleeve. He had a huge mark from that morning. A player on the other team had "checked" him, whacked him good on the forearm. From what I understand, it was an illegal move but the referee didn't see it. Some of the parents from the other team were real nitwits. The ref had called out some of the players, telling them that if they swore again they'd be kicked out of the game and the parents behind me were freaking out because their kids "would never swear". After the third time of hearing it, I turned around and said "All teenage boys swear." and another mom on our side backed me up. They shut up about it then. Our school is playing a lot of private schools and some of the parents are like caricatures, almost embarrassing to be around.

OMGs, Sharky just brought home a Red Bull and I had a taste for the first time. That shit tastes like cough syrup, and not the good kind. *gag* How anyone could drink that is beyond me.

All 3 kids are well-enough for school. We all still have lingering symptoms of whatever crud we had, but we'll survive. Hopefully when its gone, it'll be gone for good.
