"Last Day of School" this week...
Keeping Petunia home today, still has that nasty cold. Called the school and found out a whole bunch of kids have it and were sent home yesterday and even this morning (the school day just started! LOL) because of their coughing, sneezing, and runny noses. Not the flu, thankfully, just crappy colds.
Bug has the same cold, but he's fighting through it - going to Lacrosse practice again. Ugh, so glad I won't be there to hear all the throat clearing and mucous hacking that will be going on. HAH. I am looking forward to a game - it would be fun to watch and take pictures of.
The turkey took an hour more to cook than it was supposed to, but wowza, it was delish. The top started to burn after an hour of cooking so I slipped a piece of foil over it and had the boys when they got home, remove the bottom-most rack and lower the bird. Stopped the burning thankfully. Bug basted it only once, but it was so unbelievably juicy anyway. The burned portion was literally superficial and we didn't lose any meat. Speaking of which, we ate until we oozed turkey out of our pores and it doesn't look like we've made a dent in that huge bird. ROFLOL Man, I love turkey - we're gonna be eating it for days...
