Early Release Day Today

It's the first of the year, we have them approximately every two weeks.

Oh my MIL is up to her old shenanigans again. She called while I was out on Labor Day and Sharky didn't answer the phone because he was on WoW and didn't want to talk to her. She left a very annoyed message about us not being home and answering her calls and then insinuating that this wasn't even our phone number any more. I nagged Sharky about returning her call and he never did. I even put my cell phone right in front of him and he still did not call her.

Well, yesterday, I was in the bathroom and the phone rang. I let the answering machine pick it up because, well, honestly I didn't want to get up off the toilet and run through the house to grab the phone and find out it was a telemarketer. *shrugs* A little while later, I remembered and checked the caller ID - it was my MIL.

When Sharky got home, I played the message for him. It was angry and said that since we had not returned her call, she now considers it "an emergency". Yep, she called him at work. (He never gave her his work number, she took it off of caller id when he called her once from there.) Luckily, she made it short and had him promise to be waiting by the home phone at 9:00 p.m. for her to call. Guess what? She never called.

If she calls here today, I've already told Sharky that I'm not answering the phone because I refuse to put up with her abuse. He says he totally understands. Geeze, I sure hope so.
