July 5, 2006

I am so exhausted. My back was bothering me, so I laid down in bed and read last night. Bear and Petunia watched the 4th of July special on PBS in her room and then Sharky took them outside to play with sparklers and to watch the fireworks downtown. (One of the benefits of living close to a city, you can see the fireworks from our yard.)

Of course, the idiotic neighbours were practically shooting off WMD all over the place. Of course most of their fireworks were illegal. Of course they were not taking any kind of safety precaution. At least the protection held up and none came into our yard and hurt our car/truck or the house, etc. I am always surprised that those drunk morons didn't blow off a finger or poke someone's eye out.

Yesterday was Malcolm's birthday, so the kids celebrated by giving the cats some canned food. The cats loved the treat. Malcolm is "officially" 3 years old now. Wow, imagine that!

What's going on today? Well, I'm going to start off by attempting to wake up first. LOL Doing laundry, watering plants, puttering around in the kitchen, the same old stuff.

A nice Freecycling lady who lives nearby is giving me two books to read, both by Steven King. One is a regular book and the other is part of his Dark Tower series. C gave me the latest one but I don't want to start reading it until I read the earlier ones first. (Yeah, I'm weird like that. I like my series in order. LOL) I'm not sure how many there are though - have to look that up.

Still trying to wake Bear up. Geeze, I forgot how much puberty makes one need to sleep in. ROFL

I hope Bug is behaving well. Oh heck, I know he is. All my kids are perfect angels when they are alone with their grandparents. *rolls eyes*
