Monday
Woke up this morning to the news that David Bowie had passed away after an 18-month fight with cancer. It took everything I had not to fall apart. I cannot remember a time in my life where I did not have his music. After Petunia left for school and Sharky left for work, I did take a moment and let it all out. I had to, it just hurt so much. I know, it may sound silly - I never met the man or saw him in concert (and now I never will), but his music was a huge part of my life's soundtrack.
The double batch of chili I made was delicious. I also am surprised at the amount it made, a lot more than I thought it would. LOL Oh well, we've never wasted any chili, the older it gets, the better (we just rarely have enough for more than 2 days LOL). I made sure to buy hot dogs and buns for chili dogs later this week too.
My hip bothered me all night long and this morning when I woke up? Yep, still aching. Really sick of this right now.
Petunia has a robotics club meeting after school and her guidance appointment. I told her to go ahead to the club meeting since it was an important one and I'll just pick her up early so we can get to the center on time.
I really want a lap desk to use my laptop on. I think it would be so much better for my back than using a tray table like I am now. Not sure what kind would be best. I like the kind with legs (like a traditional lap table) but the bean bag ones might be more versatile. Sharky and Petunia looked at some when they were in Best Buy on Saturday (replacing her headphones) and said there were none in stock that would fit my 17" laptop. I've looked online but am unsure of how to size it properly. Will have Sharky check it out later on.
Talked to my mom this morning like I do every Monday. She's utterly convinced, and has been since last summer, that my Auntie Sue is going to drop dead any minute. The water on her lungs will not abate, so she'll have to go to a hospital, have her lung deflated and drained and then put on a ventilator until re-inflated. (I think.) Yuck. I promised mom that when the time comes, I'll head on down there to help out.
