Monday
Sharky went sailing on Saturday and Mr. DW and the gib tore, so they had to come back early. He took the sail home to repair and we ran errands. Went to the library and to Chamblins (got Prince Lestat!) and then ran to Volde-mart to do some much needed grocery shopping. (Sharky needed new work shoes as well. Standing and walking all day long is hard on most shoes.)
Driving home, we saw that our old fave, East Buffet (that went out of business after it went down hill badly) is now Royal Buffet and Petunia and Sharky really wanted to go. I had coupons for it from the Mint Magazine (mail coupon thingy) so we went. It really was nice. They had gutted the whole place and it was clean and shiny new. The food was pretty darn good too. I tried to avoid the fried food and rice/noodles but still ate the things I liked. Had a couple of pieces of sushi, two small egg rolls, lots of meat and veggies and of course, the Mongolian bar. My glucose levels at bedtime were absolutely normal - not borderline high normal, but normal normal. I was very proud of myself. I didn't deny myself but didn't go overboard either.
Called my mom this morning and got very depressed. They are doing very badly financially and won't even have Thanksgiving this year. I'm so mad, so angry at society right now I could just spit. Illness ruined them financially and they've never had a chance to recover. *sigh*
