Monday
I've really slacked off on my diary. My excuse last week though, was that I finally was able to start and finish, "Written In My Heart's Own Blood" by Diana Gabaldon. It's been 4 years since she put out another book in her Outlander series and I was excited. She left the last book on multiple cliffhangers. Thankfully, this one had many more happier endings but still enough unsaid to make me wish for the next book. I hope it won't be another 4 years. *sigh*
Petunia helped Mr. DW paint his fence Monday - Thursday last week and they took Friday off. He just picked her up this morning and they will most likely finish today.
Sharky & Petunia had a great time on Saturday when they both went sailing with Mr. DW. Petunia even actually got to sail the boat a little bit. Sharky was very proud of her. Afterward, they swung by Chamblin's and picked up a book she wanted for a friend.
See, her friend, Colleen, is a bit older than her (but still in the same grade) and has difficulty reading and because of that, doesn't read. Petunia has been helping her for a while and showed her this book that she had checked out of the library. Colleen was very interested in it. Petunia bought the book with her own money and, Sunday morning, she and Sharky swung by the girl's house to give it to her (along with a small bag of Twizzlers, Colleen's fave candy). I love my daughter so much, she's such a caring soul.
After they did that, they swung by the grocery store and came home. Petunia had a "date" with MB and they picked her up about 12:30 or so. They went to see "The Fault In Our Stars", based on a book by John Greene about 2 young lovers dying of cancer that she read and loved. (Nope, not gonna read that one. LOL) They had a good time and both enjoyed the movie.
My asthma has been even worse lately. I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment but I'm missing a med card, so I went to the website and requested a replacement. Hopefully I'll get it soon so I can make an appointment. The humidity exacerbates the asthma something horrid.
