Thursday
On Tuesday, Sharky and Petunia did the tour of FHP and after he dropped her off at school, he came home and we spoke about the tour. We also discovered, to our horror, that our printer no longer turns ON. *sigh*
I went to make a dessert later that day and realized that I couldn't find my mixer and that I most likely do not have one anymore. (Probably died, just like my immersion blender. *sigh*) So, I texted Bug and asked him if they could bring a dessert with them, their choice. They brought a cheesecake variety platter (exact same one Petunia & I were thinking of getting) and it was good. The wings turned out great, a huge hassle and kerfuffle, but it all worked out in the end and everyone seemed to enjoy them.
Winn-Dixie was out of Stouffer's Mac & Cheese (omgwtf) so I bought another brand that I had not seen before (Momma B's) and it was freaking fabulous. It was very real, with small lumps of cheese, tender macaroni and a fabu cheesy crust on top (including the delicious "overcooked" cheesy edges that people love to fight over). Sharky loved it so much, he insisted that we stock the freezer with it. LOL It has replaced Stouffer's as our fave go-to mac.
We were supposed to Skype with my mom and sdad but were unable to call them. Bug called Sharky's parents instead to chat.
Wednesday, I mailed the magnet application. Petunia decided to make Paxon her first choice, with FHP Communications as second and FHP Automotive as third choices.
I called my mom yesterday morning and got a recording again. Later on, she called me back and basically talked non-stop and then hung up, all upset over how she believes that they are not welcome in our family because of not being invited to Bug's wedding and I prefer my father over her, etc. I tried to explain things, but she wouldn't listen. I really don't know what to do about this. I think it all stemmed from her talking to Bug earlier on Tuesday. I have a feeling he really talked up the wedding, making it seem bigger and grander than it is going to be and she thought she was being excluded. I don't know how she thinks I prefer my father over her, that just didn't make any freaking sense at all and she knows that.
In all honesty, I'm surprised that we are even invited to the wedding. TBoo arranged it for a time when we were not going to be able to come. Bug had to put his foot down and get it changed so we could attend. Everything has been so up in the air about this, I didn't even know until yesterday afternoon when it was. How could I have invited anyone? Besides, we aren't "allowed" to. She has invited her family and friends and Bug is only inviting us. We wanted to see if Mr. DW was invited because he's such a good friend of the family, but no, only her friends. *sigh* Such a mess.
Of course, Mercury is still retrograde and that won't end until tomorrow. They say the absolute worst for communications is near the end (losing my women's group) and especially the last couple of days (my mom). I used to be one of the rare people who didn't have problems with Mercury Retro but not this time around. What a freaking mess.
Well, as soon as Petunia gets home from school (she has an out of town field trip today, so no skipping) and Sharky gets home from work, they will change clothing and we will head out to the park to where they planned to have the ceremony. It's not too far from here, thankfully. After that, I don't know what is going on.
Our 22nd anniversary is tomorrow (actually it's the 29th, but we usually celebrate on the 28th or 03/01 if its not a leap year) and I was hoping we could go to the new Hawker's Asian Street Fare restaurant in 5 Points. It's kind of an Asian tapas place and from what I've seen of the menu, it has all the kind of stuff we like (meat skewers, pot stickers, wontons, etc.).
