Wednesday
On Monday, Sharky went into the temp place for a typing test, which he passed with a higher than average score. They told him to come back in the afternoon for a drug test. Sharky started work yesterday. Not sure exactly what his hours are, but he starts at 8 am. Totally wore him out yesterday.
I caught up on some much needed sleep yesterday morning and then had a nice, hot shower in the afternoon. Got dressed and walked up to the bus stop to pick up Petunia. Tripped on a curb and my left hip slipped. Ugh. We got home (so much pain) and I broke down and took two of my hoarded pain pills. I only did that because we had to go to Petunia's school for a magnet school meeting (how to fill out forms and choose the high school she wants to apply to).
Took the elevator up to spare my hip. They had some snacks (wings & cookies, soda) so I had two of each to settle my stomach. The meeting was informative and I'm glad I went. Unfortunately, but the middle of it, my vision was blurry and my ears were popping (I think I got water in them). By the time we left, I felt totally stoned. Note to self - never take two pain pills without food. I was shaking like a leaf.
Sharky grabbed some Popeye's on the way home, thank goodness, because he was exhausted and I was way too spazzed to cook. Still, after all that protein (chicken, red beans & rice), I was still a mess.
Bug called and told us that he and TBoo were getting married next month. He's already planning everything out and getting all his ducks in a row, making sure that he'll get on the base housing list, etc. He knows how we feel, that he's too young and should wait, but we won't put our foot down or forbid him and we will support him no matter what.
I recently read a description of birth order kids. So funny how it works out, because even though Bear is the oldest, the description of the average first born describes Bug better. LOL
Sharky went to bed soon after he finished talking to Bug, but I stayed up as long as I could to make sure I could sleep. Thank goodness, I was able to, since those pain pills usually mess up my sleep.
Felinertia: The battle for my hip was won by Rupert last night. He got to it first and when Lucie tried to take it, he refused to back down. He had slid off and was curled up against my stomach, but that was too close for her taste, so she hissed and swatted at him. He just hunkered down and refused to move. There was a couple of battles but she gave up when she accidentally "bit" my hand. It was funny, I was half asleep and they were growling at each other, so I put my hand out and she hit it with her tooth. She backed up immediately and left, obviously knowing she had done wrong even though I hadn't had a chance to say anything.
