Friday
I was supposed to go to Volde-mart yesterday and pick up my Rx but decided to stay home instead. Been battling another one of those killer headaches and just didn't want to deal with it.
Besides having to pick up Sharky when he calls, I also have to swing by the vet's office and purchase her new Comfortis dose (flea medicine).
I am very excited because we are going to be a 2 cat home again soon. Petunia and I had made a list of desires we wanted for our new cats and petitioned Bast. Some of the things we were looking for was a pair of bonded cats, not kittens but not too old, already neutered/spayed, indoor only, and while she wanted a tiger and I a marmalade, we also knew that love comes in all colors. Well, a friend from previous Womens Retreats (AJ) had rescued two separate cats (not same litter) last summer/fall and has been trying to adopt them out. The day I decided to put in my calendar for Petunia and I to go to the shelter, AJ posted on FB that they were looking for a home. I remember seeing them last fall and feeling them tug on my heart strings but knowing we couldn't afford them. Well, everything has lined up and AJ will be bringing them by next Thursday to live with us forever. They are about 10-11 months old, both "fixed", up-to-date on their shots, and the boy is a marmalade and the girl is a dark tiger with marmalade markings.
This upcoming weekend is a 3 day one, so we will have lots of time to work on the house. Going to get the tree down and vacuum, straighten up the place and get it ready for the cats to arrive next week.
My friends have told me that Malcolm would have wanted this. He knew how much I loved him and that he would want me happy and to give a good home to more cats. They will never take his place, he was like my soul-mate-kitty and there will never be another one like him. But, I still have so much love to give and this house just feels hollow without a cat in it. Having two together, the same age, will help when Gabby passes on, they will have each other to lean on. AJ told me that the two are the best of pals and that will help them adapt to their new home and new friends. They've never been around a dog before, but Gabby is so loving and adores cats, I just know it will all work out for the best.
