R.I.P. Precious Slow Cooker
It was fine last night and this morning when we loaded some ribs into it to slow cook today, but sometime during the hour when Bear and I were at the grocery store, it cracked. Not just a little crack, but a huge gaping one from the rim all the way to the bottom, rendering it unusable. We salvaged the meat and are slow roasting it in the oven. I don't know if we can still use it - obviously not as is, but perhaps with those Reynolds slow cooker bags? I think my mom did that when hers cracked - I'll have to ask her about it.
Oh my, what am I to do without my dear old slow cooker? It wasn't even old, maybe 2 years? *sigh* It was a Hamilton Beach 5 Quart Slow Cooker (only Rival brands can be actual "crock pots") with a morning glory design, much like the one pictured but with a purple liner, instead of white, to match the flowers.
Cousin G called and asked us to help find someone today with our computers. All he had was the guy's nickname and last name, but insisted the nickname was really his first name (who names their kid Booger?). I'm sure I found the guy for him, but poor Cousin G is not computer savvy and it was tough going on the phone for a while. *rolls eyes* Oh well, can't complain, he's the only nice maternal (American) cousin Sharky has - the other two are posers, even in their 40s they still act like immature teenagers. LOL
