Frost Advisory this morning!
Yeppers, it is cold out - 45°F with a "feels like" of 39.7°F. Had to break out my gloves to be able to touch Bailey's steering wheel! (No, I'm not being a wuss, diabetes has messed with the nerve endings of my fingers and toes.)
What exciting things do I have planned for today? Well, I have to go to JEA and pay the electric/water/sewer bill. It's so obscene, it's scary, and we haven't run the heat at all and the a/c has run only 2 or 3 days the entire billing month. JEA keeps hiking the rates higher and higher. I don't know how people poorer than us can afford it, especially those who will run the heat when it gets colder.
This week won't be too bad, only one day at freezing, so I see no reason to run the heater. Two of the three bedrooms have 2 occupants, so they stay warm and Petunia's bedroom is in the middle and has always been the warmest room in the house. We also have a ton of blankets, etc. and the critters know the warm places to snuggle. Gabby is the only one I worry about but she's proven in the past that she knows to go to the boys room if she gets too cold.
Already paid my cell phone this morning (online) and added minutes to Sharky's cell (also online). Too bad JEA doesn't do that. Oh yeah, you CAN pay them online but it takes almost a week to process - it's not instantaneous. You'd think, since they brag about being so "up" on technology that they would, but noooo... *rolls eyes* They don't even take debit cards as payment (except if you pay through your bank). So behind the times...
I had the boys finalize their Yule lists yesterday. Horror. The older they get, the more expensive they are. Geeze... They ought to be lucky if Santa just stuffs their stockings with socks. *grumbles* I miss the old days of Legos, etc. LOL Their Fairy Goddess Mother wants their lists ASAP. I think I'm going to have the boys rewrite their lists to make them a bit more attainable.
