Oh my goodness, what a day yesterday was.
Sharky took all 3 kids out to buy an air filter at Home Depot, then swung by a hair salon and got Bear's hair cut. I took advantage of the time alone and took a long, hot, steamy shower. (So nice to take one without someone begging to use the bathroom. *rolls eyes*)
They all came home and we had a nice lunch. Sharky picked up some take out from Bono's BBQ as a treat. It was a good deal, actually supposed to be lunch for 3, but it was a good sized lunch for us 5 for less than $20, with pulled smoked pork, french fries, and their awesome baked beans (which are the best in the whole freaking world, I kid you not).
Then, we all got dressed, drove to Middleburg, and bought a motorcycle.
No, I kid you not.
It's a Kawasaki 1982 KZ 1000 LTD (w/12k original miles) that Sharky saw advertised in some local thing. He emailed the guy about info and got a picture, and fell in love. We couldn't afford the asking price, but he called the guy on the phone and started bargaining. Ended up paying 1/2 and trading a bunch of tools/equipment he had in the garage that he no longer used. We will be selling Joan Jetta too and we should get at least the same amount out of her so we can break even on the deal.
This will really help us out financially, in the long run. Sharky still has his motorcycle endorsement on his license and we don't need insurance for him to ride. Gas will go a lot farther, and such, will be cheaper. Yes, the Jetta got good mileage, but no where near what a bike gets. The best thing is, this is a bike that may be old, but is in fantastic condition, parts are easily available & affordable, and it's a bike that is easy to work on.
He rode it home, happy as a clam. Gave both boys rides around the block and they are totally stoked. LOL Petunia is a bit peeved because we told her she has to be a bit bigger and heavier before she can ride around the block.
