After grocery shopping (and "balancing" the budget, lol), we didn't do much. I should have wrapped presents but I didn't. Guess I'm going to have to do that today.

Have so much to do today. Make potato salad, deviled eggs, and cookies to take to Mom's tomorrow. Have to prep our stuff for our annual hors d'ouerve feast tonight. The boys just wrote everything down and divvied up chores. Looks like I might not have to fix anything tonight - just supervise. Hey, I've got no problems with that. I even explained to them that whatever they fix, they have to clean up and they still did not mind. Hmm... I wonder what is up with that? LOL

I'm very disappointed that I didn't get to watch White Christmas (1954) this year. It wasn't on local tv. It just doesn't feel like the holidays without it. *sigh* I know Walmart had it on DVD, I'll have to buy a copy now to make sure it doesn't happen again.

We did watch Young Frankenstein (1974) last night. I know, I know, strange holiday fare, but hey, we wanted something funny to watch. It's one of Sharky's favourite all-time movies and I do agree, it is consistently one of the funniest. Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder were never as brilliant as they are in this film. Even my teenage sons really enjoyed it. I was afraid it might have been too slow a comedy, but they really appreciated and understood the humour. Definitely a classic!

Brouhaha on WG? yesterday. *sigh*

Keep CHRIST in CHRISTmas!
I will most likely be censored and banned for this, but your signature is, by far, the most offensive thing I have read on WG yet.

I just said something really stupid.

You know, in all honesty, I don't want to take Christ out of anyone's Christmas - I just want people to be more accepting of others. Making fun of others by saying things like "Happy Paganweeny" upsets me. I don't go around saying "Merry Dead Jew on a Stick". But you know, if I complain, I'm the bad guy taking away some Christian's rights. Oh yeah, this "war of CHristianity" is shoved in my face all the freaking time. I like coming here to WG? to get the fuck away from it. This thing is so much like taking away Billy's naked chest man Santa avatar and yet leaving a foaming at the mouth satan one. I mean come on now, if some one was going to complain, why was one removed and the other not? There are so many other offensive avatars out there (even some I cannot look at because they are so bad) but you know, I just put that person on ignore so I don't see it. I'm shocked that I've been allowed to have my Venus for so long considering what she represents. I would not be shocked to find out that people have complained about her - at least the people who knew who she was.

To quote the infamous Rodney King, ""People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along?""

OK, guilt has gotten to me and I have to confess - I'm rather embarrassed that I wrote that. I try so damn hard to be accepting of other peoples beliefs that it just sticks in my throat when people are hateful.

Even DFCM's reply to me still upset me because he honestly does NOT CARE that he is hurting others with his blatant disregard.

Want to know the most hateful religious thing I have ever said to other people? It's an old standard that I whip out every year while shopping or just existing during the "Christ"mas season. It's "Great way to celebrate the birth of your saviour!" I said that just yesterday in Publix when an asshole with two urchins in his cart and "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" button on his suit deliberately pushed me out of the way with his cart and ran over my foot. Sometimes I get a reaction of shock, this guy just looked at me in confusion, then ran over my foot again trying to get away from me. I don't think he understood.

Oh well, it's a losing argument. Hateful and ugly, with religion backing them up, will always win. *sigh*
