Sharky came home at a reasonable time (not quite 2:00 p.m.) and had a small lunch (leftover dinner actually). After we all rested a bit, I suggested that we go out for a treat and have dinner. I surprised them all by driving to the El Potro on the westide, on Normandy by I-295.
We all had the buffet and, as usual, it was muy delicioso! Every time we go there, we end up with the manager as our waiter and he's a great guy, very attentive and a hard worker. The owner must be proud to have him as an employee. Besides tipping him nicely, I always make sure to say thank you and say goodbye when we leave.
Afterwards, we went to Hell. OK, not exactly hell, Super Wal-mart. Close enough. Believe me, this particular one can be a stand in for hell - in Dante's Inferno, this would be the level reserved for inbred drugged out trash and scum bags. Not only is the store a freaking mess, the people who shop & work there are the most rude, obnoxious, dirty, filthy examples of human society. I think one day I will make some type of AB or collage or similar to take out my frustrations about this particular store. I think it could be emotionally liberating. LOL Why do we shop there? We don't. We only went there because it was close and we needed to walk off some Mexican food. LOL
Anyhoo, we went there to grab deoderant for the boys (yeah, they do need it) and some travel stuff for Sharky for his trip. It took a while, but he did find a book to take with him - it was a self-help book, I'm not sure what it is about. I'll check into it later on.
We made a trip down the Barbie aisle and I saw a few new Fashion Fever closet packs and one new FF doll (Shannon) but at $9.97 a pop, I passed. *sigh* I really want more doll clothes, but will have to wait.
Bug and I went up and down the craft aisles. I was hoping to find an X-acto knife set, but didn't see anything of the sort. I did purchase an alphabet stamp set I had been wanting. It was the same price as the Barbie stuff ($9.97) but I can use this right away in Mom's/Grandma's AB. This one is "#2998Q Typewriter" by StampCraft. I like it because it looks like an antique typewriter font. I'd put a link to it, but I cannot find it online - perhaps StampCraft no longer makes it? I'm looking forward to using it in the AB.
As soon as the kids go to bed, we're going to have some "alone time" and watch a movie. Not sure just yet what we will watch.
Oh, since we couldn't find any at Wal-mart, we swung by Walgreens at Park & King and Sharky ran in to buy some condoms. Well, he grabbed a pack and went to the front counter to purchase them (since the pharmacy was closed). He said that the 16 yo counter boy actually looked at the box, held it up, and said "You bought the right ones" and gave him a thumbs up! OMGs ROFL!!! Can you believe it? Condoms, approved by a teenager. I guess we're really cool now. *snort*
