Isn't this lovely? My husband comes home last night and now both my sons are running fevers this morning so I have to keep them home from school. Oh well, Sharky has to go to work anyhow, so what's the big deal, right? LOL
He arrived home a few moments before we came back from picking Bear up from band practice. The kids mobbed him in the driveway and almost knocked him down. Of course, all the good behaviour they promised went right out the window as soon as we walked inside the house. *sigh*
Sharky says his trip went well enough, but being with Mr. A the whole time was worse than being on a trip with someone else's persnickety old grandma, whining and complaining the whole time. I had to laugh, it's a funny visual, you know?
He said the Hilton they stayed at was horrid for a "good hotel". They didn't even serve a continental breakfast - but they did sell hot breakfasts. *rolls eyes* Gee, starting price was $125 a night and they couldn't give out free coffee? He said he and Mr. A had their breakfast at the Rennaissance across the street where the classes were held. (That place was incredibly expensive and Sharky said was absolutely gorgeous. Made the Hilton look like a rent by the hour motel. LOL)
The best hotel Sharky and I have ever stayed at was a LaQuinta in Altamonte Springs, FL, when my dad paid for us to stay and visit them when they lived there. It was the tiniest hotel room and they crammed 2 queen size beds in it (the ceilings were higher than the room was large and it had no tub, just a shower) but it was so clean and well maintained and had very happy vibes surrounding it.
The second best was the Sheraton in Columbus, OH, where we stayed when we drove up to visit my in-laws in MI. That room was huge in size, very secure and safe (and clean lol), and had a wonderful continental breakfast in the morning (many different cereals, milk, juice, lots of fresh fruit, donuts, pastries, etc.). Let me tell you, after driving all day in a car, that was one of the best showers I ever had in my life - all the hot water I wanted in a really clean bathroom.
Just checked on Petunia, she's burning hot as well. Guess I've got a full house today. (Oh well, better a Wednesday than any other day. Wednesdays are never "normal" days at school, since every other one is a short day - and ironically, today isn't one of them. Ahahahaha!) Now she's up and complaining. "I want to go to school." "It's not fair." "I hate being sick." yada yada yada...
Isn't it silly that one of my fave memories was when I had the flu a few years ago? LOL I felt feverish and passed out on the couch - but before I did, I told Bear to call Sharky. Bear and Bug made lunch and made a bottle for their baby sister (they were being helpful boys and didn't fight at all) and Sharky was able to be home for 2 days and take care of me. I ran a high fever and slept forever, only being woke up to be medicated. It sure was nice to know I didn't have to do anything. Shame that I had to be sick to experience it. ROFL
