Last school year, without my permission, Bear lent 2 of his Gameboy Advanced games to a friend. I didn't find out until last week that he never got them back. He remembered the name of the boy who borrowed them and we found an old school directory and looked him up. I made Bear call because it was his responsibility to get them back. Well, the boy wasn't even allowed to speak on the phone, so Bear talked to the mother and explained the situation. She then wanted to speak to me. Turns out, the friend had the same kind of problems at DCMS that Bear did.

I made the mistake of saying that I thought that perhaps it was a 6th grade boy problem and that this was very new to me because I never had a boy this age before (not having brothers, etc.). Well, she ended up breaking into her life story about her brother having ADD and her wanting to take him from her family when she was 17, married and with a baby, and her parents were too greedy and didn't want to lose their SS and food stamps, yada yada yada...

Come on lady, where in this conversation did I mention that I want your personal laundry aired? No where! Why do other women do this to me? I just do not understand it.

Oh well, bottom line, she still has a kid at CRES so she will swing by tomorrow morning and drop the games off with me. *phew* What a relief.
