I didn't post an update last night because I was in a bit of shock. Heck, I still am.

At the doctor's yesterday, Sharky received the good news. There is nothing wrong. There is no tumour. There is no infection. He is fine. What happened? Well, it's a bit convoluted and confusing but let me try and explain.

The MRIs were read by a technician who misinterpreted the past surgeries (the 2003 one and the one from the late 1970s) and who then passed on the misinterpretation to Dr. S. Dr. S, following proper procedure, then made Sharky have a consult with his ear doc. Dr. G said that neither of them were to blame, they were going on pictures of something without knowing the history.

So, now Sharky has to go back to Dr. S with the MRI films and let him know that his ears are not the source of his headaches and the mess in the films is perfectly normal - for him. Back to square one, but at least some potential problems have been eliminated.

Sharky wasn't happy with my reactions last night. I guess he figured I would jump with joy or something. I wish I could. The feeling I have is more of a deep down sense of relief with a touch of "what will happen next" thrown in. I don't know how to explain it...
