Sunday

Looking forward to Petunia coming home today. Sharky has to go over to Mr. DW's house and help repair his computer (took a dump yesterday). Bear and I have to go to the grocery store this morning, ran out of some essentials this morning with breakfast, so...

I posted the following on Yelp this morning:
East Buffet
5086 Normandy Blvd
Jacksonville, FL 32205

We will never come here again. If we had known about the bathroom ahead of time, we NEVER would have stayed to eat.

The food tasted great. It was hot and appeared fresh, the buffet was watched over and things swapped out like you would expect. The waiter was prompt and always kept our drinks refilled.

The women's lavatory? Something had happened and it stank like a combination of mildew, cleaning fluids, and feces. The stench was so horrid, I almost vomited. They had a Maytag appliance jerry-rigged (multiple power cords, electrical tape, etc.) in the handicap stall pumping fresh air in but it did not help. The stench was so severe, you could taste it and was burned into my nostrils for hours afterward.

I tried to tell the man in charge (owner? manager?), but he pulled the no-English card on me and just smiled and nodded his head.

Last night, my husband was up vomiting and my sons complained of stomach aches. All 3 usually have a "cast-iron" stomach...

I am very sad about this. We've come here off and on for many years, since it first opened and it was our family's fave Asian buffet.

Today is the seventh day of Vestalia and also, it is the Roman festival, Quinquatrus Minusculae, in which the tibicines (musicians) went through the city in procession to the temple of Minerva.

"Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you
can understand."

- William Butler Yeats (13 June 1865 – 28 January 1939)
