Had a wonderful day yesterday

On Thursday, Sharky got home from work not too long after noon time so I'm grateful he didn't have to get all tired out on Xmas Eve. We had a nice feast with lots of goodies and some awesome fruitcake from KP (hereby known as Princess K LOL by the kids). Didn't have a movie to watch but we were already pretty pooped and just watched the holiday shows on tv. Went to bed late though, since wanted to make sure the kids were asleep before we went to bed so Santa could come to the house.

Woke up about 4 am to use the bathroom and was startled to hear a knock down/drag out screaming match coming from the house next door. Can you imagine how loud it must have been to have traveled through their brick wall, across the driveway and through my brick wall? *rolls eyes* Went back to bed and Sharky and I got up before 7 and then had our coffee.

Kids loved all their presents, from the ones we gave them and from Santa, and from our beloved friends. Showered, got dressed, wrapped Mom's gifts and then we were on the road.

Got to Mom's and she was totally flabbergasted when they brought in the keyboard. Auntie S did not blab (thank goodness!) so it really was a surprise. The boys set it up in the sun room and she's so excited to start playing with it. They loved their pirates and the other goodies we got them. Lunch was great - the ham was huge and they loved the boys' deviled eggs and pasta salad. We brought them a care package of food and gave them Sharky's work bonus - the $50 grocery gift card. Awesome serendipity - we stopped at Winn Dixie so Sharky could pick up some tobacco and the receipt machine printed out a coupon for "Get $10 off when you spend $50 or more", so we attached that to their card - $60 worth of groceries now! LOL

Sharky tried to fix their leaky kitchen sink, but it was a busted o-ring and unfortunately, tinkering with it just made it worse. We can't right now, but come pay day, we're buying them a new faucet (you cannot repair the cheap ones made nowadays) and driving back down to install it.

Pictures to come later on. We were so exhausted when we got home, we just ate a couple of bites of leftovers (and I took my medicine), played a game on the Wii, then went to bed. I was up all night long and woke up feeling hung over, of course with no alcohol involved. *sigh* Sharky has to work today but he might (fingers crossed) be able to get off early. That would be nice.
