Yesterday was a long day

Bear enjoyed his field trip (motivation seminar) on Monday. Petunia enjoyed her theatre class on Tuesday. All 3 kids had decent report cards. Today is early release. Ick.

Had leftover salad for breakfast yesterday. Boys went a little heavy on the (real) bacon bits the night before and it was awesome. Speaking of bacon, they took out bacon out of the freezer to thaw this morning for dinner tonight, but we don't have enough eggs. Not sure what they are thinking... I really don't want to go to the store when Sharky gets home. Been doing that almost every night and am tired of it.

We walk home with two of Petunia's classmates. They are boys but are very friendly and polite and affectionate towards animals, so they greet Roxy and the other kitties with us. Most of the other walker kids either ignore the animals or freak out like fools. *rolls eyes* How scary is a fat, fluffy cat who rolls over on her back to get her belly rubbed? Geeze.

Anyhoo, the two boys now carry whistles on their backpacks for emergency purposes. One of them wanted to demonstrate it to me, but I asked him if he thought his parents would think that was a smart move. He thought about it and agreed that it wouldn't be. LOL They walk down the road just a block past us and then turn, but it's literally steps to their houses and there are a lot of kids who walk that way as well. Of course, that didn't help poor Somer Thompson. *sigh* Still praying that her killer will be brought to justice soon.

The weather is freaking awesome. I love it when it is cool outside. This morning is not as cool as yesterday, but still very enjoyable. Hope it stays like this for a while, we really need the respite from the heat. Hope it is cold for Thanksgiving as well. Sweating on turkey day is not fun. LOL

Hey, just remembered - exactly seventeen years ago yesterday, I voted - stood in line for what felt like forever, extremely pregnant, just let out of the hospital that morning (high blood pressure). Was waiting for an available voting booth and wondered why the hell none of the asshats there offered me a chair to sit in. Bear showed up 4 days later (Saturday). Luckily, our voting place here in Jax isn't as rude as the one in Fort Myers. They will freely offer chairs, water, snacks, etc., to anyone showing up... LOL

Man, Bear is going to be 17. Where did the time go?
