Today will be busy...

It might be easy or it might be horrid, we'll have to see. Called Mr. DL last night to ask to borrow his car but he wasn't home (and didn't arrive home until very late) so I just left a message. This morning, after dropping Petunia off at school, I knocked on his door but he didn't answer. Wrote a note and taped it to his front door's window.

You see, I not only have to pick up my Rx from Volde-Mart today but Petunia's theatre class starts this afternoon. It's being held at a church a mile away and she rides a bus there after school but has to be picked up. If I don't have a vehicle, I'm going to have to walk there and that scares me. I walk almost a mile every day to pick her up (it's 0.2 miles from my door to the school and I make 4 trips, so it's a total of 0.8 daily) but if I have to walk to this church, it's a full mile there and a full mile back. I would have to leave at 4:15 to make sure I get there by 5:00 p.m. and it's freaking hot here at that time of day - not to mention the rain.

My stupid little faux Ked sneakers are not comfortable in the first place walking long distances - this is going to kill my poor feet.

I honestly didn't want her to sign up - the boys always participated in these programs but it was always held at their school (which is not hosting this year) and it was easy. But she wanted to do this more than anything else and Sharky insisted on it. It's stupid of me to be selfish like that anyways. Honestly, the most dangerous thing about it is the possibility of a thunderstorm and if my feet hurt, it's my own damn fault.

Oh, got to mention, we absolutely KNOW it's gonna rain, and rain hard. The palmetto bugs are starting to pop up - they like to be warm and dry and always show up in houses when there's gonna be a big rain. A baby one was in the living room this morning, he was about an inch and a half long, and Sharky was my brave man and killed him for me - he sure has improved over the years about killing those damn things.

The biggest one I have ever seen in my whole entire life was found (by me, of course) on my computer tower last night. He was over 5 inches long, not including leg length. I should have taken a picture but I was afraid the flash/noise would scare him off and then we'd be in trouble with a biggun like that running around. Holy guacamole. *shudders* Bug was very brave and picked the bug up with a paper towel and then gave him a good whack with a coffee can before burying him in the trash.

I always say a prayer when I have to kill a spider, but I have a hard time with any sympathy towards palmetto bugs...
