Today did not start off well...
I woke up late and found Sharky asleep on the couch and no coffee in the pot. I woke him up and he insisted he made it - turns out he did, but the pot was not plugged in. He didn't feel very well. Got the boys up and both showered and got dressed.
Next thing I knew, I heard rain falling heavily outside. (My desk is next to a window.) I had the boys look for their friend C's cell phone number but they couldn't find it. They took the umbrella to his house but had just missed him. They came home and got an extra pair of socks and started walking. *sigh* I told them to get his cell number and we'd program it in all our phones for emergency purposes.
Poor Sharky had to ride his motorcycle in the rain. He was NOT happy about it, but even though I had the key to Mr. D's car, there was not enough gas in it to take him and I did not have the money to gas it up. *sigh* I felt terrible, but what could I do? I called him a little while ago and one of his co-workers said he had just came in the door. I freaked a little, but when Sharky got on the line he said he had arrived at work on time, thankfully, and had just walked in the door from another room.
The rain stopped not too long after the boys left, so I pray most of their walk was a dry one. It was actually cool when I walked Petunia to school (no complaints this morning!) but the humidity was so high, I was still sweating horribly.
The walk to and from school is getting better. My feet still hurt because I do not have proper walking shoes, but I haven't had the lung problems that I did on the first day. I'm rather ashamed of myself, I walked this route daily for many years and there is no excuse for me not being able to handle it. Good thing though, I need the exercise and am getting it now.
