Blueberry Coffee Cake and Stupid Cell Phones
Bear baked this today and it turned out delicious. The blueberries didn't sink like they were supposed to and he thinks he might have deflated the beaten egg whites a bit while folding in, but it didn't change the fabulous taste.
Recipe found here.
We had half of it when it was first baked and then the other half for dessert - warmed up gently with a teeny bit of butter. I think this would be great with blackberries as well.
Well, as you can tell by the title of this entry, my trusty RAZR cell phone finally took a dump and left us high and dry Saturday morning. I was so NOT happy with it.
So, yesterday afternoon we went to AT&T to get a new phone and they could not (or would not) give us a decent deal to re-sign our contract with them (we wanted new phone with no money down lol) so went next door to T-Mobile and got a brand new fancy phone (definitely upgrade), better contract (we had 300 day minutes but they had 1000 for $10 more, way better deal than any other place), and they waived the activation fee because they have a contract with the head corporation of the place Sharky works at and we get a discount on the monthly bill as well! WOOHOO!!! The lady who helped us (coincidentally a lot nicer than the peeps next door at AT&T) gave us a new number temporarily until their computers were able to port my old phone number over. I got a text message that night, around 11:00 p.m., saying that it was completed and I could use my new phone with my old number. Yippee! Of course, my SIM card with my old phone had gone bad so they weren't able to transfer my phone book to the new phone. Spent a part of today attempting to recreate it by hand.
BIL never came up with the car, so we still have his truck unfortunately. There was a big brouhaha and his feelings got hurt and he became angry. We waited all weekend but he never called or showed up. I truly believe that Sharky is more hurt than BIL would ever be, because BIL just doesn't sympathize or emphasize with others.
Finally told Mom about our problem on Friday. She remained rather calm, but was crying when she got off the phone. Hurt my like hell to have to tell her but I told her that I just couldn't keep lying to her and she understood. I spoke to her this morning and she was doing better and definitely more upbeat.
