Sharky spent almost all of last night on the phone, calling various relatives. He felt really good afterwards and I'm glad.

We were "hit" by Tropical Storm Andrea yesterday. The walk to the bus stop was horrid. Ended up standing on the school steps waiting for the bus so Petunia could stay dry. Luckily the bus saw us since we were on the opposite side of the road. Even with an umbrella, I was soaked completely through (used the umbrella mostly to keep Petunia and her backpack dry). Luckily, the rain eased up and was about gone by the afternoon. There were tornadoes but thankfully they were south and north of us and did very little damage.

Birds are going crazy outside, the rain really drove them nuts yesterday and they are everywhere today. Petunia and I got to see a baby red-bellied woodpecker crying and following its parent around from tree to tree begging for food. Yesterday afternoon, we saw a baby blue jay doing the same thing.
